Festschrift for Wolfgang Hirschmann: »Und alle Sphären klingen«

The Handel and Telemann Prize winner Wolfgang Hirschmann (Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg) is honored on his 65th birthday with essays that focus on his main academic topics, the research and edition of music of the 17th and 18th centuries, especially Telemann and Handel, as well as his broader academic interests. The content of the 35 essays ranges from philosophical-aesthetic studies to music-historical and edition-methodical individual presentations to contemporary cultures – also from an interdisciplinary perspective.

For this festschrift commissioned by the Georg-Friedrich-Händel-Gesellschaft, authors were found who are associated with Wolfgang Hirschmann as colleagues and students as well as in his functions as university professor, editorial director and leading member of cultural institutions and associations.
