At its meeting on June 6, 2025 at the Handel House in Halle, the council of the George Frideric Handel Society decided to co-opt Florian Amort, Director of the Handel House Foundation and Artistic Director of the Handel Festival since April 1, 2025 in succession to Dr. Bernd Feuchtner, to the council. On July 22, 2025, he agreed to the co-optation and is therefore a voting member of the council.
